Chesterfield Composite Doors offer GRP composite doors and Solid Core composite doors in a range of styles and colours to suit everyone’s taste.
The doors shown on our online door designer are GRP composite doors. GRP or glass reinforced plastic (fiberglass) composite doors are typically filled with foam, making them highly thermally efficient.
The outer layer of a GRP composite door is made of two GRP skins bonded to a solid frame filled with insulation which is usually a high-density foam. Due to this foam the door slab currently cannot be recycled.
For an additional £200 on top of the price shown on our online door designer, you can upgrade your new door to a Solid Core composite door.
As Solid Core doors are mainly made of timber facing in different directions, they are a much thicker and stronger door slab.
Solid Core doors are the preferred choice of door by the vast majority of insurance companies due to the strength they offer.
Solid Core doors are also more environmentally friendly as they are mainly made from wood and can be recycled at the end of their life.
